It started with a healthy sushi starter that was already sold out at 6pm. We opted for bread in advance. My table companion eats gluten-free so we got 2 types of bread. Her bread was dark, flavorful with seeds and nuts. My bread was white with zero flavor and hard bite. We received 3 spreads and olive oil, balsamic vinegar and butter. Nothing was really tasteful. Make sure that your oil is not rancid, but extra virgin. I had steak tips deglazed in vodka as a main course. There were 7 mega pieces of beef in a pool of different vegetables with tomato sauce. I think you should serve this with spaghetti with parmesan or bread if necessary. It was definitely not what I expected from a dish with steak tips. The sweet potato fries with parmesan and mayonnaise, on the other hand, were very tasty. Disgenoot had coq au vin but, contrary to expectations, it was on the bone and quite dry. Not very varied or tasty. In addition, the toilets are almost outside or at least very far back, which gives you a kind of camping experience accompanied by a lot of cold and discomfort. All this cost more than 80 euros with 3 chardonnay and water and I feel a bit cheated. No matter how hard the staff tried. I don't have the feeling that people (staff/kitchen) really know what they are doing at Leidse Lente. What do you radiate, who do you want to be? Camp relax or something more classy? Please raise the wine list! Choose and act. This is downright messy and unclear. I will come back for delicate and tasty or cafe brasserie food 10/10 incl nice beers.

What a funky place. Beer garden out back. Had a great meal with family. Especially loved the gluten free break for my wife. Lecker!! So crisp on the outside. I liked my fry up and the watermelon salad with cheese was perfect for a hot day. The local white and ipa beer was so good I reordered. The white beer was very refreshing. Great service. And. THEY TAKE CREDIT CARDS
