This chip shop advertises, and says, they do gluten free fish and chips. I thought my fish and chips were being cooked in a separate fryer out of sight at the back of the shop. I was so shocked when he wrapped up a fish from the hot cabinet at the counter were all the other gluten products were and passed it to me. This is not suitable for a coeliac and should not be stated as gluten free as the risk of contamination was very high. The server, who may have been the manager, said he's been doing it that way for 5yrs without complaint. I didn't take the fish and got a full refund without any argument. I would not recommend this to anybody with coeliac disease.
