Great place for a romantic evening, beautiful restaurant and great atmosphere. 5-star service from Ludo, who goes above and beyond to ensure we have a pleasant evening. The portions are generous and the food delicious. Special mention to the raspberry vinaigrette! Lots of gluten-free options and a guarantee of satiating for all guests.

It was either an off night or Gaspar has experienced a decline in the quality of the food. I was so excited to try Gaspar during our visit to Montreal, after getting a recommendation from a friend, seeing it listed on a travel blog post, and seeing the many great reviews on Google. But...we sadly left feeling disappointed by our dinner there, and felt we'd had much better food for lower prices elsewhere in Old Montreal. Gaspar is gluten free / celiac friendly, which I appreciated very much. There's a dedicated fryer and our waiter was very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. We sat outside on the terrace, though we wished we had chosen to sit inside. Partly because of the weather that day, but also because the Gaspar terrace wasn't as nice as some of the other terraces. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful. We had a dinner reservation but there were many tables available, so the reservation likely wasn't necessary.
