Germantown Café

Menu is labeled with GF-gluten free or can be made gluten free items. However, I was excited to try the crab cakes, but they were mistakenly labeled as GF, and our wonderful server Madison double checked and found they were not.She saved me an awful result if I had eaten them. The meatballs appetizer was wonderful-rare to find gluten free ones! I also ordered the add on filet and the green apple slaw. The filet was done medium as I asked, but really had no seasoning at all, without any fat, it was practically tasteless. It would’ve been great if they could’ve cooked it in butter, or served it with some. I ended up dipping it in the marinara left from the meatballs. We both shared the slaw, it was very good and different. My husband wanted steak, and the only option was a filet-he doesn’t care for them.He had the half chicken which looked beautifully roasted, but was dry and tasteless. I did have the chocolate tart, GF and was AMAZINGLY good! We spent $105, seemed pricey, they also charge a 2% “kitchen love” fee-never have seen that before. I’m not sure I would go back.

Has gluten free buns! And bottomless mimosas! I suggest making a reservation, at least for the weekends. Our server, Hailey, was great.
