Geysir Glima restaurant

I have a gluten allergy and eat vegan. I knew there wouldn't be many options for me which is fine and understandable. I ended up asking for rice, potatoes and veggies at the grill stand. Chef was a bit confused but complied, but the cashier first asked "no meat?" Then when I said no and tried to explain I'm a bit difficult because of some dietary needs, he shook his head frustratingly and charged me 4800 ISK. I later found out my brother ordered the exact same thing but with meat and was charged 4100 ISK. Never was I rude or made my order anyone's problem. I had no issue paying full price for my plate, but being charged extra and being met with that reaction was unnecessary and rude.

It’s a must visit on your trip to Iceland. It’s a fine dinning restaurant which is worth every penny you spend. They have thought through options for people with different dietary preferences (including vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, lactose intolerance, non vegetarian etc) Dishes were amazing and served beautifully. Ambience is amazing and very classy. We ordered: 1. Truffle fries: 9/10 - perfectly fried and crispy. 2. Chicken wings - 6/10 - you can skip this appetizer 3. Risotto: customized to fennel risotto. - 10/10 - loved it. It is served with Salad 4. Burger: customized to vegetarian- 7/10 5. Cod fish dish - 9/10 6. They do serve cocktails on request. And have good collection of wine.
