Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse

Gibsons is an iconic Chicago-style steakhouse that proudly houses 3 well-known locations. The Chicago staple has existed for just under 40 years and is well spoken of by its frequent flyers to include numerous celebrities of many caliber. The steakhouse offers many different meat cuts, styles, seafood, and steakhouse traditional meals such as lobster, shrimp, Caesar salad, etc. I had dined there a few different times trying a couple of samplings that they offer. The steakhouse has the ability to accommodate quite a few food allergies to include a gluten allergy.

This was a second visit after a poor experience previously. I'm happy to report this was a much better experience. The steaks were good and the twice baked potato was sizable and definitely shareable (hot instead of warm would be nicer). Our server was fine, but we felt a little slighted because he didn't review the menu as extensively as a neighboring table received from a different server. It would be nice if this fine dining experience had gluten free bread available for guests with an allergy. The porterhouse was amazingly tender and delicious. The T-bone was good too, but it had a bit of a different taste to the meat I can't quite nail down. While our last visit wasn't worthy of a re-visit, this was definitely was an experience worth coming back for.

We had an amazing time at Gibsons. I am gluten free and dairy free and the waitress Leslie did an amazing job communicating what they could do to make my meal enjoyable! Leslie was so energetic and excited to be there. Another thing we noted was that we did not feel rushed at all. A lot of times restaurants just want to turn the table and get people moved out. We had time to review the menu, enjoy our wine, talk, and enjoy the food. It was a great place for a birthday dinner. Tables were close and it was a little loud. But that's to be expected with a busy restaurant.
