I was in Basel only for a few hours between a river cruise and a train to Zurich but I really wanted to stop by for some GF baked goods. I visited this location near the train station and was so pleased! The lady was so kind and helpful, she explained some of the different breads and gave us some tips for Basel. I bought a couple of brezels and rolls, and a streusel bar and a cinnamon roll and everything was great. My gluten-eating husband also liked the brezel and said it was as good as some he had eaten in Alsace this past week. The texture of everything was really good, I wish I had bought a loaf of bread to take home but I knew my suitcase was already quite full. If you are gluten free and in Basel, make time to visit this bakery, it’s well worth it! I had a completely different experience to many of the reviews here and suspect that if you are polite and use good etiquette, which means greeting in German and asking in German to speak English, you will also have a great customer service experience. Kindness is met with kindness!

Finally, you can enjoy with a clear conscience and not worry about ingesting traces of gluten if you have celiac disease. A wide selection and friendly service round out the whole experience. Sure, the price is high (as is generally the case with all gluten-free products), but you're not getting industrial goods here. So, overall, it's higher than expected, but reasonable. But I absolutely can't understand why the service was rated so poorly in some reviews. We received friendly and courteous service, and we had an almost familial conversation with the server about celiac disease. Thanks again for the insightful words and valuable tips.

Fantastic selection of sweet and savoury, everything delicious. Very reasonably priced and the staff member was really helpful in offering recommendations for other gluten free-friendly cafes and restaurants. Really nice cafe and lovely neighbourhood, would recommend!
