Gold Burger Diner

I came here for the first time on a Monday night, my husband came first and was NOT greeted, nor attended to. He finally was able to be seated when the waitress approached him. Me and my children and parents then arrived shortly afterwards maybe around 10 mins or so after my. husband arrived and we joined him at a table in the front of the restaurant. My expectations were immediately let down, when I noticed patrons staring in our direction. I felt I could not have a proper conversation with my own father facing him because young ladies at the bar kept turning around staring at us, and talking amongst themselves. They seemed in deep conversation with one of the bartenders or worker behind the bar. The atmosphere was very stifling and upsetting because this is 2025 and I'm a new Georgetown resident, from various states I've resided in and not once have I ever encountered this type of vibe anywhere. I suppose I should comment on the food, I was excited to try the meatloaf meal that was a special for the day, and unfortunately they ran out, so I ordered a burger and with a gluten free bun. I felt like the burger itself was dry for a smash burger. I also felt the food took awhile despite the fact that there weren't many ppl in the restaurant at all. The waitress was phenomenal and because of this she was tipped accordingly. over 30% on the bill. I was not pleased with the way ppl reacted, and from the prior reviews I see that it is encouraged by the staff and environment of the restaurant. I will not be returning, and I will make sure I leave reviews on all platforms to give others that are not bigoted some heads- up.

These folks take the extra step to “do it your way.” Being celiac (severe wheat allergy), I always have to ask questions. The staff has been very accommodating, and the breakfast great. I hadn’t had biscuits and gravy in years but they worked it out! My family and I go often.

Great food, large portions, and very affordable. I appreciate that they have gluten free options and my server was very knowledgeable on what was safe. Cool atmosphere too. We’ll definitely be back!
