Having been fans of Golden Hour since early days of the Farmer’s Market, pretty disappointed since the move to the new building. Arrived to a very fun atmosphere with a steady crowd and live music. We went to order food of which I did not wait in line. Despite that, it took nearly 10 minutes to be addressed as one of the employees apparently made two beverages and chatted with someone. Not a huge deal, but a little annoying. Ordered a Monte Cristo, grilled cheese, and a donut. Only two gluten free donuts were available. Took about 15 minutes for the food to arrive. The Monte Cristi is pictured—which was not good (and that’s being polite). It was burnt toast with deli turkey/ham, and Swiss that hadn’t melted entirely. Also, as pictured, you can see where the pink colorant of the paper was being absorbed by the turkey. Not great. They were out of jam—a trademark of the sandwich—but didn’t indicate that beforehand (otherwise I’d not have ordered it). Certainly not worth ~$10. Not to mention the additional 10 minute wait just to ask for the jam. The grilled cheese was good and is frankly the only reason the food rating isn’t a 1 or 2. The only saving grace to this experience was the live music and general good vibe of the place. Otherwise, it was exceedingly disappointing. If asked, I would not have guessed that the same person operating this establishment was the same one who ran the stand at the Farmer’s Market that I used to frequent every week.

The atmosphere and food were both very good. As a person with celiac, we appreciate their gluten-free options, but the staff person helping us seemed uninformed about our questions about cross-contamination. Also, from an environmental perspective, it would be nice to see them provide plates and cups that were not plastic for those of us eating inside. The hot sandwich we ordered did come on a plate, but the pastries we purchased to eat there was given to us in plastic containers.

Very cute and inviting. Great beverages. Gluten free Blueberry muffin was fresh and delicious 😋. Had an iced matcha tea, too. Great location. Support our local restaurants
