Granite City Food & Brewery

We came in with a group of seven, three of whom have gluten allergies. One of the salads was served with croutons even though it was specifically ordered without. It was sent back, and we asked for a completely new salad. When the replacement arrived, he started eating and discovered another crouton hidden inside. This made it clear that the kitchen likely just removed the croutons instead of preparing a fresh salad, which is extremely disappointing. Thankfully, the allergies in our group are not severe, but for someone with a serious allergy, this could have been a dangerous situation. On top of that, when it came time for the bill, we had to wait quite a while, and then were simply handed one check and told to split it ourselves. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and careless.

The dinner, house wine, and coffee were excellent. I have serious celiac issues. The menu had things I could enjoy safely.
