Great Southern Killarney

Great location close to Killarney town , close to the train station which is a bonus. Rooms were a great size, breakfast choice very good with all tastes catered for especially coeliacs. Hotel has an old world charm with a modern twist - service was excellent with very friendly staff.

The Great Southern is a lovely hotel great central location in Killarney and the rooms are really nice, the only let down was the breakfast there wasn't a great selection of items outside of the hot food like breads fruit yogurts etc and my wife is a coeliac and the gluten free choices there were fairly abysmal, for a hotel with such high standards it was a bit of a let down to be honest

We had a lovely stay the 17 th&18th March. Upgraded because of my husband’s birthday. The minute we entered the hotel the hospitality was excellent. A space in the reading room was sourced for us to have coffee while awaited our room. The entertainment was only brilliant in the foyer. Dinner in the dining room was excellent lovely choices. Catered for gluten and dairy free. A beautiful waitress from Goa was so pleasant. Breakfast both morning excellent. I have to said the freshly made breakfasts are the way to go. A great choice. We are in Brownes bar on the Tuesday night. I was disappointed in my curry it was tasteless. The only other negative I found was the pillows uncomfortable. We had a great day cycling around the national park complementary bicycles from the hotel. In all a great place to stay well worth the price. Thanks to all for making the birthday trip memorial.
