Have no idea why my friend and I haven’t been here before ….I would give this place more than five stars - the flavours of the food made my mouth water .
Even though it was a busy Friday night, the friendly staff fit us in ( it helps if there’s only two of you ) . We asked to be seated down the back where it’s quieter - Glenelg on a Friday evening can get quite rowdy ! But the sounds that we mainly heard was the enticing sizzle of the pans in the kitchen .
Staff were friendly and welcoming- water appeared on the table straight away . The place was lively and there were many others enjoying their meal .
So many gluten free options- I truely got excited . I think we ordered too much but every bite was relished .
Bahn Khot was an amazing little dish - traditional mini rice pancakes with shrimp and minced pork with a slightly spicy fish dipping sauce- this is one dish I recommend because it’s quite different- the flavourings in this were so delicate but the taste was both delicate and full of punch . The little rice pancakes were a little crunchy in the outside , but soft and fluffy .
Xiao Hat Dieu was my friend’s favourite - she loved the taste of the stir fry and the still crunchiness of the vegetables together with the cashew nuts .
I absolutely loved the peanut satay sauce that came with the chicken skewers - this should be bottled and sold separately.
We ended off the meal with the Nem Nuong ( the roll your own cold rolls ) with the grilled pork belly balls - I actually put the peanut satay sauce on this as well as the sauce that came with it .
All the dishes were packed with taste , and the dishes came out at a timely manner , especially considering how busy they were .
So delicious- recommend this restaurant highly.
