Grotto Ristorante

Went here for valentines, hands down the BEST Italian food I have had in the states. Amazing atmosphere and experience. Must try their risotto and their signature Bellini! Lots of gluten friendly options too!

GLUTEN FREE - DO NOT GO HERE!!!! (Long story short, just stick to the salad or find a different restaurant) I just ate at this restaurant last night (8/28/24) and asked for a gluten free menu, the waitress was super nice and handed me her phone with the online version since they did not have a hard copy. The menu clearly said at the top “gluten sensitive” which was fine for me because I’m usually fine with cross contamination. I asked for the penne pasta with just some red sauce and it was delicious! After my first bite I felt something was off and had a feeling I should’ve stuck to the salad… I really wanted to double check and ask if it was the correct noodles because it really tasted different from my regular gluten free pasta. However I did not want to insult the waitress and make it seem like I did not trust her word so I ate about half of it. About 2 hours later I get back to our hotel and was throwing up consistently for over 3 HOURS!!! The restaurant and service was amazing I just hope to warn a fellow gluten allergy person so they don’t have to find out the hard way!

Maddie was our server she was so kind and knowledgeable on all the gluten free options available, she was able to accommodate us and we have celiac disease. We felt very comfortable and didn’t have any reaction to the gluten free pasta.
