Gyro House Mediterranean Grill Beaverton

Asked for gluten free options and was told that the kebab sandwich was gluten free. I asked twice before ordering if the guy was sure that the sandwich was gluten free, and he kept saying yes. I asked the owner again if it was really gluten free when we picked up the order and he said yes. We opened the box and they used a regular wheat pita bread. Not sure if they are plain stupid or ignorant. Either way, not cool.

While the portions were large and the food good, this is not a celiac friendly place. I asked about gluten free options and was told what was “safe” which was only the kabobs, I ordered the lamb kabobs with salad only. There was some major cross contamination going on. First, I found a piece of gyro meat in my salad, and I’m not sure if it was the cooking surface, or dipping sauces, but something definitely had gluten. I have been feeling the effects of being glutened since leaving. To everyone else, enjoy, to those with celiac, pass. I won’t be going back for this reason.
