Been here quite a few times now and really want to love it especially as it’s my new local but sadly each time we go it gets more frustrating. Used to be my no. 1 place out of old town a year or so ago especially as they had the best scotch eggs I’ve ever had (now removed from the menu) but the last few times I’ve been we’ve had: gluten free burger very burnt and the kitchen closed just after we got our food so nothing could be done - we did flag to staff but they didn’t do or say anything, another occasion our lunch food took well over an hour to arrive (2 flat breads and a fish finger sandwich), we did get a slight discount but it wasn’t worth the time lost over a work lunch and then popping in for 2 coffees recently, waited over 30 minutes for the coffee and had to search inside the for sugar as we couldn’t find any staff and weren’t offered any. It’s such a lovely location and building, and when the food is right it’s great, just sadly beginning to avoid this place because it seems 50:50 whether it’ll be a good experience.
