Hamilton Russell Arms

Celebrated my wife's birthday here. Lovely pub/restaurant with traditional warmth and charm. Service was superb, very attentive and friendly. Menu was well thought out and was refreshing to see plenty of gluten free options including a chocolate brownie which made my daughters day as she is usually limited to ice cream from the dessert menu. I had the fish and chips and it was beautiful, nice big piece of fresh fish with light and crunchy batter, mushy peas, homemade tartare sauce, a picked onion (worked really well, try it next time you go to the chippy) and the best chunky chips I've had in a long time. I did have food envy when my son's BBQ beef brisket with chorizo chunky chips arrived, will definitely be returning to try that one myself. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours spent at The Hamilton Russell and looking forward to my next visit with the family already, that's if I don't just nip in for a cheeky pint with a bowl of them chunky chips before then!!

There was 7 of us who went to the Hamilton Russell for lunch on Wednesday 21st February. We were celebrating a 80th birthday. We had 2 vegetarians, 1 nut allergy and 1 celiac in our party. Nothing was to much trouble for anyone. Checked with us all about the allergies. The service by Millie and another lady was absolutely perfect. Nothing was to much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious. Not many places cater for a celiac person, there is a good choice on the menu. Would definitely recommend the Hamilton Russell and we will definitely be returning Many thanks to everyone it was a lovely afternoon.
