Hank's Seafood Restaurant

Second night in Charleston celebrating our tenth anniversary. Hanks definitely met the high expectations we had of good seafood in Charleston! I ordered the flounder and the flavor was out of this world! My husband ordered the oysters casino as an appetizer which were a “ decadent delight” as he described them. For his entree he ordered the grouper which was a tender but meaty and delicious entree! Our server, Drew, was very attentive and pleasant. There was a separate gluten free menu with many options. Both of our main entrees were GF.

Normal loud, dark wood-paneled interior but very professional staff. Good service. Gluten-free menu for my husband. First time ordering tuna tartare appetizer. Thumbs up. I ate their bouillabaisse which was excellent with a yummy crostini toast. Not cheap, nor should it be. Pictured is their seafood tower. Although it’s not what I ate, I saw several of those going out.

Cannot recommend for gluten free. They have a separate gluten free menu but it was incorrect. I ordered an entree that included fries and then didn't receive them or a substitute. I had to call the server over who was also confused why I didnt get the fries with my meal. He came back and said the kitchen said the fries have gluten in them. This is very disappointing and alarming that their dedicated gluten free menu is wrong and that server was unaware. In addition to this, the fish did not have much taste or seasoning. Disappointing for my first time in Charelston.
