I have been here several times - we drop in since it is convieniently located in our neighbourhood. I wanted to love this place. The renovation and interior design is beautiful abut I am disappointed with the service (sometimes) and allergy food selections (dairy and gluten). One time I came to meet a friend for coffee and despite the restaurant being practically empty two employees gawked and whispered while looking at us. I asked if they closed between lunch and dinner to make sure we were not keeping over staying, they said no, so we continued our conversation and coffees. At first I thought perhaps this was a misunderstanding or one time thing but my friends and I have had similar experiences when we drop in for coffee and do not order food. I noticed when we go to order drinks and food the service is significantly better. The lack of options for people with dietary restrictions is also disappointing. Overall, it is not as friendly, charming, and accommodating as Blackbird Cafe which we loved. To be fair we have had a couple nice waitresses and the drinks are good but the negative experiences have left a sour impression.
