Harvester Barn Chichester

Service was slow (it was busy) but we waited 25 - with a tired 3 year old - before we were offered any service. I'm coeliac and requested the dinner I would have liked, I was informed the chips are cooked in a fryer where gluten is also cooked (VERY grateful the staff told me as this can make me personally very unwell) however this can be misleading as the menus state chips are gluten free. Weavgyakly made the choice to leave and go elsewhere as it was a risk I just didn't want to taker personally

As soon as we arrived, we were met with the friendliest server called Mia who showed us to our seats, straightaway I enquired about gluten free options as I have coeliac disease and also sugar free/less options as i had just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and was fairly new to the diet. Mia explained thoroughly what I could have and even went to the trouble of getting my salad bar options straight from the kitchen to save cross contamination at the salad bar, even wrote down the gluten containing items for me so I knew what not to tick on the little list I was given. On top of that, said that she would get my refill from behind the bar, again to stop cross contamination as their refill machine had drinks in there that have barley. Excellent service! I left with a full and happy tum and even had a super good blood glucose reading :) More establishments need to follow suit!
