Hat Yai Belmont

Portland normally has great Thai food but I found the food here pretty mediocre. I visited with a large party and sampled 4 dishes and only really enjoyed their Roti (part of the vegetarian plate). I do love that they accomodate gluten intolerance well but was sad there was only one vegetarian option. I'd recommend Thai Vendor if you want a huge selection of fabulous Thai food.

I had an amazing birthday dinner here thanks to the kind, gracious, diligent Hat Yai Belmont team. I deeeeply appreciate having a warm, inviting place that makes such delicious (gluten free) fried chicken (a dream come true for me) for a reasonable price where I could celebrate with my friends without depriving them of gluteny goodness. The combo of the chicken, breading, curry, and sticky rice is one of my favorite unique culinary experiences in Portland. It's tricky to pull off a celebratory group dinner without being being able to make a reservation, but doing it on a Wednesday and keeping our party under 10 made it work. Have I mentioned they offer gluten free fried chicken? It's amazing. It's birthday chicken. Thank you for accommodating our party. We're thankful for you.

The food here is consistently amazing! We warned them about my boyfriend's gluten intolerance so they made sure the roti didn't touch any of the food we were going to share. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Portland.
