Hatch44 Cafe has a great variety of foods, but for me was not a great allergen friendly restaurant. I have allergens to dairy, soy and gluten and I view menus beforehand , so my choices are easier to make beforehand. I settled for the steak and eggs. Well, ALL their steaks are premarinated in soy oil and no accommodations could be made with that-per the waitress. No problem, I asked for eggs, potatoes, and bacon. The potatoes are cooked in soy oil with no accommodations to be made. Well my choices dwindled to an almost complete “zero” until the chef and waitress offered a vegan pancake, eggs, bacon, and gluten free toast. I accepted. After all the negotiations, my friends had their food and I still waiting for my simple meal. The eggs, bacon and toast were cold. The gluten free toast had no butter or jelly to add flavor. After a few minutes later, the waitress brought the warm pancake. A breakfast is complete with all the elements together and they have to be at the right temperature, so eating my food did not invoke a feeling of delight. The waitress was very friendly but I had my friends at the table and we had to make a few requests on different occasions for napkins, salt/pepper, syrup, and ketchup. Hatch44 was not very accommodating for allergens and I would not return. I felt tired asking for substitutions, napkins, etc. Wasn’t the worst place but wasn’t the best either.
