Have Another Slice Bakery

Fannie is the absolute sweetest! I called 17 bakeries trying to find someone who would make a shareable dessert that is both vegan and gluten free! I received 16 no’s before Fannie said yes! She went through all her recipes with me to find one that would work for the dietary restrictions I was trying to accommodate and even gave me samples to try to make sure it not only fit the dietary requirements but to make sure it tasted good! I never knew something vegan and gluten free could taste so delicious! Her cheesecake was delicious! Her zucchini bread was just the most perfect dessert for a cup of coffee or tea and the carrot cake was to die for! If you want a baker that will accommodate your dietary needs and taste even better than a “normal” dessert with the best personality, I would definitely call Have Another Slice! I will be ordering from her again! Thank you!

My mom is sensitive to dairy, so finding pre-made birthday cakes that she can safely eat is very difficult. There are other bakeries we know of that do gluten-free and dairy-free, but they are very far from where we live. So when we learned about Have Another Slice Bakery, we were hopeful that we could get a tasty cake that my mom could eat without getting sick. Fannie was a delight to work with. She was beyond generous with her samples (to the point it almost felt like I was taking advantage of her). She took note of all of the dietary restrictions we discussed and was able to accommodate them easily. After testing many tasty samples, we settled on a gluten-free, dairy-free carrot cake with vegan buttercream frosting and a loaf of gluten-free, dairy-free lemon blueberry zucchini bread. Both were excellent, but I especially loved the carrot cake; despite being gluten-free, it was not dense, had good moisture, and was well-spiced (I've had carrot cakes before that were weak on the spices, so it was refreshing to have one so flavorful!) If I had to note one con or caveat, it is simply that she doesn't have much experience with various cake decorating techniques, so the cake you get will look like a standard, homemade cake. If you need something more elaborate, then this bakery may not be for you. However, if you're after a tasty cake and have dietary restrictions, I would highly recommend checking her out. I'm certainly anticipating working with her again in the future.
