Hazel's Kitchen (Sandwich Shop)

Hazel's Kitchen has some of the best sandwiches around.🥰 We have been coming here for years (late 90's), never disappointed!! Will cross a bridge when craving a good deli sandwich. I don't stray too far from a personal favorite, "build your own," sliced dark rye, turkey, regular mayo, yellow mustard, lettuce, tomato, avocado and pickle. Huge sandwich, saved the other half for later🥪💫. Prices are incredibly reasonable, staff is super friendly, always nice and fast!!! Best Portrero Hill location for walking around and hanging out. Tons of menu options, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, etc, etc, etc. Seating table area outside is close by and shaded. Will continue to cross a bridge or two for a great deli sandwich, bagel sandwich, wrap sandwich, all the sandwiches!🥪🥯🌯✊🏼

I’m a huge fan of Hazel’s Kitchen because it’s one of the few restaurants in the area that does gluten free sandwiches! When you order, they also use about four slices of the small GF bread to make it feel like the size of a sub, whereas many restaurants won’t. Lots of fixings in the sandwich and great flavors. Don’t recommend the curry chicken sandwich because it’s quite watery, so it falls apart. Otherwise, all great!
