Hete Kolen

The reviews don't lie, Hete Kolen is really a great restaurant. The place is not too big, but there is an atmosphere all around you. From the outside of the building to the toilets. Hete Kolen has embraced the definition of an open kitchen, from most of the room you have a view of the kitchen, in our case we were almost IN the kitchen, very nice! Everything is freshly prepared every day and almost all dishes come from the BBQ. The menu is therefore simple but of very good quality. You can taste that it is fresh in all courses. The dishes are beautifully prepared and very pure. Personally, we had the meat platter as an appetizer and the ribeye and round steak as a main course. Delicious and more than enough to go home satisfied. Fries with delicious sauce are served with the main courses. The service was of high quality! Even though we had several employees at the table, everyone knew how to talk about the food, gave it a personal twist and was relaxed. You feel very welcome. Without dessert we spent approximately €55 per person with 3 drinks per person, starter and main course. Good price/quality ratio! One of the people in our party eats gluten-free and this was taken into account. The service was able to clearly indicate what was and was not possible, alternatives were discussed at the table and we had no complaints! Gluten-free beer also available, woohoo! All in all a fantastic place and we will be back!
