Highlands Prohibition Kitchen

Very relaxed vibe; great live music during our visit tonight. Service was very attentive and friendly. The food is upscale, very fresh, and a great change of pace from other local restaurants. The amuse bouche was a surprise - who does that anymore?! It was a lovely ginger butternut squash bisque!!! The Chef clearly cares about what he is serving - no skimping on quality given the amazing flavors. The menu is compact but I prefer the high level of quality than mega-mediocre volume. Gluten-free options for apps and main course but not in the desserts; although those are also done by the chef - and are also nothing like the local fair. We got the impression there is rotation in the menu, and they sell out of things so go earlier rather than later. We added it up our favorites list; we will be back! Try this bright spot in Banner Elk - you won’t be disappointed!!!
