I’m generally skeptical when a place indicates they have GF options, especially if it’s a sandwich shop. I was pleasantly surprised when I engaged with Avi, the owner, and recognized that he truly understood the importance of preparation protocols and the challenges celiacs have when eating out.
After talking with him, I took the plunge and ordered the most gluten sounding sandwich he offered, gluten free; the Pimento Chicken sandwich (fried chicken tenders, on a GF bun with pimento cheese and caramelized onions) and Cajun fries from the GF fryer.
It was, literally, the best GF sandwich I’ve ever had. The pickled veggies were top notch too.
They also have a good truck that is a regular on Woodstock’s Truck ‘n Tap rotation. Fellow Celiacs, Avi and Hoagie Bros is legit.
