For allergy sufferers: steer clear of the restaurant. It can be dangerous or even life-threatening. It's really not that difficult: Celiac disease...order a salad that's advertised as coming with bread and croutons. Ask if it's prepared separately. The waiter says yes: Ordered salad without added gluten. The order comes, croutons...oh oops...we'll bring a new one. Two minutes later, the "new" salad arrives. In any case, they made an effort to pick out the croutons. But there were still some under the salad. A great deal of ignorance about the disease, that it can also trigger epilepsy when consumed, disrupt blood sugar levels, and cause other neurological disorders. Gastrointestinal problems are just the least of the autoimmune disease's problems. Anyway, it made me feel really bad. And as a thank you, I even had to pay for the contaminated food. So, nut allergy sufferers, beware. It could be your last meal...it's not taken seriously. You can only choose the fine restaurants where people with real background knowledge still work.
