Hotrods Old Vail

The absolute SLOWEST SERVICE EVER. We've given Hot Rod's many tries. The food is great and offers gluten-free options which is important to us but the service is the absolute slowest you'll ever be met with. Just today, we went in at 12:30. There was nobody up front to seat us. We waited several minutes. I saw an employee standing in a corner in the front area kitchen. I couldn't tell what she was doing. After some time, I asked "Should we seat ourselves?" this surprised the woman who quickly looked up and I was then able to see that she was on her phone this entire time. She agreed to us seating ourselves and then brought us menus. She said that she'd be right back to take our drink order. The rest of our party joined us, we waited for quite some time. There were only 2 other occupied tables. The woman never came out to take our drink order so we left. While walking out, we saw the same woman who said that she'd be back to obtain our drink order. The woman was right back in the same corner she was when we first walked in, on her cell phone. This is not the first time that we've been met with this type of service and waiting an extensive time to just be acknowledged and seated at a table. Hot Rods is NEVER busy. Often times, there is nobody in the dining room when we've visited. If there is anyone there, it's never no more than 2 tables. Having worked in the Restaurant business, there is NO excuse for such poor service. It's quite a shame that Hot Rods still refuses to get it together in the service department because their food and atmosphere is not bad at all.

Nearly every time I pull up they're closed on new days. When they're not closed the wait staff and cooks don't seem too knowledgeable about gluten free....anything. It's sad.
