M
Howie's is an excellent choice for modern Scottish cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere without the hustle and bustle of the pun. Its dishes stand out for their flavor and presentation: from haggis to fresh fish, game meats, and traditional soups or the soup of the day. The restaurant has two main locations in Edinburgh: one on Victoria Street, more intimate and with historic charm, and another opposite a cemetery very close to the climb to Canton Hill. The service is attentive and efficient, and the menu includes vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, as well as a good selection of wines and whiskeys. They also have clean bathrooms. Improvements: The Victoria Street location has small spaces, with limited access for people with reduced mobility. In both cases, it's advisable to book or arrive very early. In short, a highly recommended place for a tasty Scottish experience with good value.

Tasty lunch with high quality ingredients! The staff was very kind and available for clarifications. I confirm that they have a menu with gluten free options and are very careful about contamination. Central location, reservations recommended because it is a highly sought-after restaurant! You can choose meat or fish courses and interesting typical Scottish dishes

(+): friendliness of waitresses, fast service, freshness of products, allergens and food preferences displayed (vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, etc.) (-): Don't come looking for originality, good food but nothing extraordinary, consistent with a standard French restaurant, nothing more. Too expensive for what it is, even the bread costs money. Please note, allow 10% more on the bill for the service. Noisy atmosphere in the room.
