Five of us celebrated a birthday brunch at Huckleberrys.
There is nothing wrong with the food. It was fresh, tasty, the portion size was also good and what was particularly positive was that we had a person with us who doesn't eat gluten - said this with the first order and this was taken into account for further orders. Very attentive!
What wasn't that attentive, however - apparently the waiter didn't particularly like us personally and wasn't interested in making a gesture to the birthday child. Also after asking whether we could get a small cake or something else for him (we would have paid for it too, that wouldn't have been the issue, although in most restaurants and cafés there is some attention, such as a decorated table)
First of all, it was as if the waiter had been forced to say, "Happy birthday."
And a "I'll see what I can do"
He left and didn't come back.
That was really unprofessional behavior!
Shortly afterwards we wanted to order something to drink, but the waiter didn't allow that because the table would be reserved for someone else in a few minutes.
We were there from 10:30 and we had to leave the table at 12. 1.5 hours would easily be enough for 2/3 people at a meeting, but plan for a birthday brunch (which was also announced in advance by email) and the number of people Restaurants and cafés usually last 2 hours... We would have liked to have been informed beforehand that we could have known this without being thrown out.
