Hungry Hawaiian

I love the Hungry Hawaiian for simply prepared, delicious food that is gluten free! I always order the teriyaki chicken because it is so good and teriyaki sauces are so rarely gluten free that I eat gluten free teriyaki whenever I can! My husband loves the spam musubi and we can never order enough. While the food is delicious, sometimes the serving portions for the veggie side are inconsistent. Also this location (Woods Cross) feels a little like a hole in the wall... It's small and cramped with the tables and some of the kitchen storage stored out in dining/ordering area. I wouldn't choose to eat in the restaurant for that reason and I think it is off-putting to new customers. But I recommend the food to everyone because it is so good and I get it whenever I'm in the area!

Fantastic food and love the family atmosphere of the restaurant. The teriyaki chicken was flavorful, juicy and incredibly tender. But the kalua pork! It was off the charts. My experience with kalua pork is that it is often dry. Not at the Hungry Hawaiian! The kalua pork was incredible moist and the flavors were amazing. The veggies were even a delight. I couldn't not leave without buying a bottle of the delicious Teriyaki Sauce to bring home with me. The sauce is even gluten-free, which is an added bonus. Thank you, Hungry Hawaiian, for an outstanding meal! We will definitely be back!
