I went for the first time a couple days ago, very busy place , I had come on the Victoria Day weekend and there was a wait list , so came back earlier morning the next day and got in fine. I found the food was great and a very reasonable plateful so to speak. The service was excellent, the kitchen took a while, like 20 min between ordering and food, so don't go in a rush on a busy day. Actually my main point is that I appreciate the "55 and over" reduced meal price on the half dozen fixed option menu they have for the price of a breakfast, lunch or supper meal...great idea ... It was certainly enough for a moderate appetite...
I also appreciate that they have gluten free pancakes ...
The coffee may cost a bit more than " Timmies" but they leave you a fresh, hot, insulated coffee " urn" to just refill your own coffee to your heart's content rather than trying to catch the waitresses eye.
An oat milk dairy alternative would be good, they just have cream or milk...
The booths are super comfy. It's a chain but the staff seem very organized and run more like a family restaurant in my books. They give the tables a good clean between clients.
August 2023 add'n I'd just add that your ave bill will definately be over 20 with a meal and a drink, for most of the menu. However, they have lower cost meals for " over 55." Which I had for this original review.
Also I have since discovered they have early specials for any age before 9 a.m.
Also on the way out I noticed a neon handwritten sign about " children eat free" but didn't get the details. I'll post the " before 9 a.m. " shirt menu and an updated general menu with the " over 55 " choices, a bit smaller but what would still be within a normal sized meal vs gargantuan portions
Overall I was very impressed for a restaurant offering traditional breakfast , lunch and supper. Opens nice and early , closes 8 pm , breakfast offered.
