I generally try to be understanding when dining out, but our experience at this restaurant was completely unacceptable. We spent over three hours there due to excessive delays at every stage. It took more than an hour just to have our drink order taken, and only after we had to ask another staff member for assistance. My gluten-free bread also took an hour to arrive and was served cold, despite being described as “freshly made.”
Service was unprofessional and inattentive. Our server spilled water on the table early in the evening, later spilled wine on my friend, and the starter wine pairings were incorrect Throughout the night, we had to make an effort just to get basic service. Most concerning of all, I have celiac disease and specifically ordered gluten-free items—but I became extremely sick after eating, suggesting serious cross-contamination or a kitchen error. I couldn’t even finish the rest of my course because I was so unwell.
I spoke directly with the manager, who apologized, but still required me to pay the full bill. Considering the poor service, my illness, and the fact that I didn’t finish my food, this was incredibly disappointing. As someone with dietary restrictions, this experience was not only frustrating but potentially dangerous. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone expecting safe food handling or even standard hospitality.
