I’m not too familiar with the Westport area, so I used Google Streetview to find a place to park. Even though the Insomnia Cookies location in the Power & Light District is closer, I didn’t want to deal with a parking garage and walking to pick up my order.
Before placing my order at the Westport location, the only experience I had with Insomnia Cookies was ordering a dozen online to be delivered to a friend in the hospital in another state. I specifically Googled “cookie delivery in Des Moines, IA.” Insomnia and Crumbl were the first 2 results. I have had Crumbl before and I’m not really a fan. When I read that Insomnia Cookies are delivered warm, I didn’t even scroll down the results page. The available delivery hours and the cookie delivery tracker were just a bonus. Everyone said the cookies were delicious, so I had to try them for myself.
There are some slight variations between ordering from their app and their website. If you aren’t familiar with what their flavor names mean, use the website.
My order of 12 cookies included 4 Gluten Free ones. I wasn’t sure what their protocol is on separating GF items, so I wrote a note in the place provided in the order page. I told them I would probably forget to ask when I get there, please point out which cookies are the GF ones. I was very happy that while I was being handed the box, I was told that the GF cookies are the ones that are individually wrapped.
Each GF cookie came in its own cookie sized paper bag. The top of the bag is folded over and has a “Gluten Free” sticker placed on it to keep the bag from opening.
While I can’t speak to the cookies in my order that went to family members, I had chocolate chunk, double chocolate mint, snickerdoodle, and white chocolate macadamia. While I probably won’t order the white chocolate macadamia again, all of the cookies I tried were as described: delicious!
