My favorite restaurant in Ely. Love the Buffalo burger. Gluten free options!

Visited July 9, 2024. Two people ordered well done gluten free bun burgers. Burgers came cooked to 'rare' with no gluten free buns. Avoid this restaurant. The longer story:   Three burgers ordered, all well done.  They came and were rare- actually dripping blood.  The meat was around 80% dark red and 20% cooked.  Another man in our group lost his appetite at his own undercooked burger.  The burgers weren't just a little undercooked but extremely undercooked. Further, I ordered a gluten free bun, as did one other person.  When the food came, we verified with the server that the buns were gluten free because they looked exactly the same as the regular buns.  On receiving the bill, the bill showed that only my burger was ordered with a gluten free bun.  So the other individual was exposed to gluten, and their bun looked like mine, so I presume neither one of us actually got a gluten free bun. The menu is good and the food actually looked pretty good, but they didn't cook the food to order and didn't honor gluten free in any respect. I think you can find a better restaurant in Ely and have no interest in returning to this restaurant.

We ate here twice while staying in Ely. Compared to the other restaurants nearby, this was by far our favorite. The staff are very friendly and do an amazing job at everything. The bartenders make some great cocktails and the food is delicious. My steak was perfectly cooked and my girlfriend loved the walleye entree with the cornmeal crust. She’s gluten sensitive and there were plenty of items on the menu for her to choose from. We had a great meal here both times and would come back again if we’re in the area.
