If you find yourself in Pendleton, IN, and crave a cozy and consistently phenomenal dining experience, "Invited To The Table" is a must-visit gem that has managed to exceed every expectation. This gem specializes in gourmet waffles, transforming a simple breakfast staple into a culinary art form that I truly haven't been able to get enough of.
The star of the menu is undoubtedly the "Croque Dijon Monsieur," a waffle that elegantly balances ham, gruyere, gouda, and shredded parmesan, all brought together with a sublime Dijon dressing (although, if you're feeling a little freaky, a small douse of syrup ROCKS with the dish too). It's easily one of the best single bites of food I've had in the state of Indiana.
For those with dietary preferences or restrictions, the restaurant offers gluten-friendly options that are so good, you wouldn't even know they're gluten-free (and, in my opinion, taste better than the traditional variety)! Of course, traditional waffles are also available for the purists who prefer to stick to the classics.
But what truly sets "Invited To The Table" apart is its service. Over the past month and a half, my partner and I have visited four times, and each visit has been a delight. The staff's consistent, top-notch service and the comfortable atmosphere containing natural light and friendly vibes of the restaurant (upstairs, downstairs, and outdoors seating!) makes every meal special, complementing their truly mouthwatering food that should be able to please any customer with working tastebuds!
