Iron & Ale Lynchburg Tap and Table

My family of 7 and I came out tonight Saturday for dinner and we got a table upstairs pretty fast surprisingly! One of my family members had a gluten allergy and our server Jen made sure to talk with the kitchen about no cross contamination and helped us pick something for my cousins to eat, I think it’s great that they make so many accommodations for allergies. Our food and service was wonderful and will be back !

We were spending the night in Lynchburg, and since I have Celiac, I looked for a place with a gluten free menu. Online, I found below...an extensive (4 pg of options) GF menu for Iron& Ale. When we arrived, I asked the hostess for a GF menu. She told me that they didn't have one but that our server would know all the options and be able to explain them to me. When our waitress arrived, I asked for some help...could she please show me my options for gluten free. Her response: "We have gluten free buns. That's your choice. What do you want to drink?" We should have left then, but I was trying to be positive. I ordered a sandwich on a GF roll, and when it came, there was lettuce stuck to the top. There was no lettuce on my sandwich--which clearly means it was cut with a knife that had been used on another sandwich, and my bet it was not from a gf roll. I asked if the balsamic reduction was gf; she shrugged. I ate a bite of my sandwich, and I had a reaction. That fault was mine. We should have simply left. When she brought our bill and noticed I hadn't eaten, she asked if everything was okay, and I said I was glutened, and she said "Show me the gluten." My husband and I told her we weren't complaining; we weren't asking for anything-just the check. Management: If you no longer have GF options, please remove that menu from your google site. It is false advertising, disappointing, and simply rude of the waitress to react so dismissively. We stop in Lynchburg often; we will not return.
