We stopped in for a little lunch and are so glad we did. Isabelle is an incredible food, wine and service experience. Isabelle herself is cook, server and sommelier. She has a brilliant wine selection - one of the best we came across during our time back in Canada. The space is very cute and the food menu, whilst contained, was perfect for this 1-woman operation. We had a lovely orange wine, the braised pear salad (perfect for our gluten free / vegetarian), the quiche and a ham and cheese croissant. Dishes were fresh, balanced and beautifully presented. There is a level of care and quality that’s hard to find in most places we’ve encountered during our stay. We hope Isabelle is here for many years to come and we’ll def return when we’re next here.

Isabelle has opened a lovely French (i.e., France) cafe (i.e., a French cafe), with great pastries that my family rave about (I'm gluten intolerant, kills me), and a changing small menu of lunch options. I had a fantastic boeuf bourguignon with a wine-poached egg on top today, fantastic. My table had a lovely haricot and tomato "tatine" (open-faced sandwich), with a home-baked focaccia, and a charcuterie with a raclette-melted cheese thing which was very much enjoyed. The hot chocolate is a decadent cup of thick cocoa and much beloved by my son. A lovely elegant small room, personal service, and a place for a slow-food experience. If you're in a hurry, there are fast food options in the region ;) . But if you're not, and like well-cooked, well-presented real food.... Thanks Isabelle!
