We visited Isla on Friday 4 April for a late lunch and it was truly outstanding. We had just arrived in Durham for a friend’s hen weekend and so this was the first meeting point for the group. I’ll start with the service which was truly exceptional - the lovely staff working that day went above and beyond; complimentary fizz for the table to celebrate the special occasion, extremely attentive to our lovely bride who was coeliac and so needed gluten free options, and even took some excellent photos of us all from the stairs above! It was a lovely sunny afternoon so they sat us outside which meant we had a private space, another nice surprise. Now onto the food - absolutely delicious, every dish was packed with flavour and the entire group loved everything we ate. I’m sorry we didn’t catch the names of the girls working that day, but please pass on our thanks to them for making it such a memorable, lovely start to a special weekend. We all loved Isla and will be recommending to friends and family!

Great experience, so many great sounding brunch dishes it was hard to choose! The quality of food was lovely with the potato rosti the stand out! Best thing was the choice of gluten free options for my partner which can be a challenge for brunch! They also have avoided cramming the covers in so each table has lots of space meaning it is a lovely dining experience. All this at a very reasonable price point. Will be back soon to try out the other brunch options!
