I seldom if ever complete reviews, and especially negative ones, ( we all make mistakes or have bad days) but unfortunately this was a disappointing experience. I saw great reviews online about this traditional Italian Restaurant near us, and as my husband loves Italian, especially lasagne, and we were entertaining a friend from India, I thought it would be a good option. Disclaimer- I’m celiac so Italian is not a great option for me generally. Food: My husband of course ordered lasagne. I suppose like any person, he has preferences for his lasagne, but he was not greatly impressed. His comments little meat, but when he got a bite with meat in it, it was good. A bit runny. He did say the rolls were very good. Guest- no input Me: I asked our waiter what they had that could be done Gluten Free- He said Pizza and one other option. I chose a slice of pizza and side salad. I asked another question about the toppings then placed the order. Now it may just be me, but having been a server, if someone asks me specifically what can be ordered Gluten free, I would assume, they wanted or needed gluten free. We received our order, my slice of pizza was not brought. When brought to me it was disappointing in flavor and difficult to eat, as there was no consistency to a crust, where the toppings existed. After finishing a portion of the large piece and getting to the crust edge when I took a bite, my thought was, this does not feel / seem like a gluten free crust. You may think I should have noticed this sooner eating that much, but honestly the crust seemed rather non- existent until reaching the edge. When the waiter returned I inquired if this was a gluten free crust to which he replied NO.. He said, I didn’t know you wanted gluten free! I’m thinking are you serious! I jokingly said, I’ll send you my doctor bill! We paid and left, because time with our guest was very limited. This was one lucky waiter, as I don’t typically have severe reactions as some people do who are celiac, but I did get VERY NAUSEAS and feel very sick that evening. Not pleasant! We won’t be returning.
