Definitely a vegan gem for all vegans, gluten free friends. And for those like myself who eat meat, you won't be missing the meat at all 😜 The gyozaholic was delicious, moist and the skirt had a crispy crunch. My friend had the tofu don and I had the Japanese katsu curry 🍛 which was recommended by the staff. Very yummers and filling for your stomach, we couldn't order dessert !!! Hahahaha. The Yuzu nigori was also a delicious alcoholic drink I recommend 🤤 Would come back again as everything including the service was top notch ✨🙏

I stumbled across this gem while on a recent short trip to Queensland to visit my mother - what an unexpectedly delightful experience. And stumble I did , almost literally, as it was right around the corner from her house ! I’m spite of just walking in off the street and being a lone diner , I was welcomed warmly by the staff . Izakaya Midori is a Japanese plant based eatery , and I was happy to also find some gluten free options. I choose the tempura tofu accompanied by a miso soup . The tempura tofu was amazing- having actually been to Japan I had something to compare it to . And the miso was a very flavoursome side . The place had a relaxed and very green atmosphere- perfect for a vegan eatery . The floors were wooden slats and the dining was casual and there were quite a few random plants dotted about the restaurant, adding to the vibe . One day when I revisit my mother , I will definitely make a point of returning .
