J. Gilbert's Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood McLean

It must be living out of past glory; we were curious about this restaurant because of the past good reviews but it was a really bad surprise. The bad experience started with a rude front desk but then the food was also awful. My husband and I ordered steaks (that were not cheap) and they both were dry and over cooked even when we ordered them medium. We are steak eaters and have never had such bad one! You can just cook a better one at home or at those chain steakhouses . My husband had allergies and they provided a gluten free menu but the waiter did not seem to take seriously his other allergy on dairy and he got sick afterwards. After eating we had this awful aftertaste, I am also feeling sick the next day. The restaurant looks worn down and chaotic. Terrible experience, avoid this place!
