Went out for a Monday brunch after landing at airport. Not much of a wait. Waitress was really helpful and when my wife's gluten-free panini came out as a 3" inch square on an otherwise empty large plate, she immediately said, "That doesn't look right. That's not even half the usual sandwich." She grabbed the plate and headed for the kitchen. We were impressed that we didn't even have to say anything.
The manager came by and started to educate us on how the gluten-free bread was smaller. We never complained even once, yet we did ask, "Do you think this looks right?" His curt response was, "What, do you want me to get you half a piece of toast?" We responded, "No, thank you. We are good." Vowing to never return as he walked away.
We understand that the gluten-free bread is smaller than the usual panini bread, and we also understand that gf bread comes with an extra cost ($2). We guess the restaurant enjoys nickel&diming money from something with less ingredients and less food cost from unsuspecting customers. Fool me once...
