This was our first visit to the Wildwood location, prompted by a tv ad for a portabella mushroom sub with peppers and onions, Swiss cheese. I had called yesterday to see if they had gluten free rolls, which they do.
We were there at 4:30, and with just one customer at a table, the rest of the place was empty.
The gal behind the counter rushed us through the process even after I told her that it was our first time there.
She proceeded to cook the mushrooms, peppers and onions, wiping the hot top with a towel. I would’ve thought that she would’ve cleaned it a lot better considering that we ordered a vegetarian sub. If there was meat residue on the grill top, it wasn’t cleaned properly for a veggie sub.
We stood right at the counter and watched her cook it, the whole time chatting with 2 other employees, never checking to see if we wanted salt or any other additional items.
It was like we weren’t even there.
Maybe she was just the cook, not used to dealing with the public.
When we got home and opened up the subs, the gluten free roll pretty much had disintegrated. Pretty disheartening since we paid extra for it. $20.00 for two regular subs, no drinks, was pretty expensive.
Not returning anytime soon.
