An employee assured me that their gluten-free cupcakes did not contain potato starch, which I’m also allergic to. I asked her to double check with the baker since I’m allergic, which she said she did. I had symptoms after trying the cupcakes, so I asked the same question a couple days later, and the owner told me the baker said there actually was potato starch in them. I asked for a refund and for the owner to look into how this miscommunication happened so it wouldn’t happen again to someone else, and all he said was “Thanks for your suggestions.” If my allergy symptoms included anaphylaxis, I could have died due to this negligence, but the owner does not seem to care. I would avoid this place, certainly if you have food allergies.
