Jula's on the Potomac

Sigh. I’m so disillusioned with the food quality in the DMV. The service here was great, our waiter was really kind and friendly and offered recommendations, I wish I had gotten his name. The host led us to a nice table by the window, which we appreciated. However, that’s where the positives end. The food and presentation were abysmal, almost insulting. The “table side” crab bisque presentation looked like slop from a can, there is no good reason to serve the dish like this… it was so unappetizing and unappealing. My gluten free short rib Benedict was served on the saddest, dry GF bread (see photo), not even on an GF English muffin (there are many good ones sold in stores). The short rib was dry, the egg was overcooked, and as someone who LOVES potatoes, I couldn’t even eat the breakfast potatoes, which were served wet, undercooked, cold, and overly seasoned with rosemary. I can make myself food that is 10x better than this, sorry.

Will was so attentive and kind! We had an incredible brunch, and love that there were so many GF options for our celiac guest!
