The spaetzle are okay, but nothing particularly special. Somehow, everything lacked seasoning and especially salt. The mountain cheese spaetzle was especially lacking cheese. I had the bowl, and even if you mixed all the varieties together, it still tasted the same – like, basically, nothing.
The interior seems cozy, but unfortunately, it's a bit impractical because everything is very cluttered.
We had made a reservation in advance because there were a few of us, and we had already pre-ordered a portion of gluten-free spaetzle over the phone. When we arrived, they suddenly said they were out of gluten-free spaetzle. When we wanted to cancel the rest of our order to try our luck elsewhere, they suddenly served a portion after all.
Overall, the service that evening was a disaster. We all received our food so extremely late. First, two dishes were brought, then the next four took 20 minutes, and the last one was completely forgotten and only brought when we asked. Meanwhile, several takeaway orders were being placed, and the guests on site were kept waiting.
Some dishes were already sold out that evening, but for the bowls, you could choose other varieties as substitutes. This worked for two out of four plates. They probably ran out of replacements by then. But in the end, we were just happy that we got anything at all.
I understand that there are stressful evenings, and perhaps the team was understaffed. But as a server, you have to deal with that accordingly. We weren't even apologized for all the mishaps, and there was no further communication that other items had run out during the preparation time. They could have offered compensation (especially considering the hefty price of almost €19 for a spaetzle bowl).
All in all, a very disappointing experience.
