Kōtare Cafe

We were late for lunch when we arrived in Mangawhai and kids were hungry! Was aiming to visit the Mangawhai museum and didn’t realise they housed a lovely cafe too. With only half an hour til closing, still the lovely ladies behind the counter were very patient and helpful in their recommendations for some great loaded bagels. Really handy they offer a “half size” which was perfect for us. My husband is gluten free and we struggle to eat out, but Kotare had some delicious GF bagels. They also had several GF slice options in the cabinet which we enjoyed. The cafe itself was light and bright, and coffee was excellent. Definitely worth a visit!! (My daughter said 7/5 stars)

An ideal place, with a playground, spectacular food, gluten-free and vegetarian options, incredible refreshing smoothies, the best coffee in Mangawhai!!! ❤️☕️
