Sometimes all you want in the way of food is something tasty, nutritious and light on the wallet and thighs! Japanese food ticks these boxes so I always look forward to lunch at this cafe. Visually appealing, dairy and gluten free delicious food and top quality coffee!!

Saw this place on Sunrise so wanted to try the coffee here. Didn't realise it's a vegan/gluten free kind of place. Went in with my preconceived ideas of militant vegans and unfounded gluten intolerant people and the conversations I overheard really only strengenthed those notions. In saying that, I order the buckwheat pancakes. I walked in starving and even I couldn't finish. It wasn't a massive serving, just filling. Disappointingly though the coffee was nothing to write home about. I though maybe I was given some vegan variety of nut milk, but they do have the real deal there. If they can't get a $4 coffee right, no chance they're getting $150 for a black filtered coffee. Maybe the barista hates carnivores so deliberately made the milk disgusting. There also seems to be a bias towards single people. I took my son on his pram. The door wasn't wide enough to fit it in, so had to unlock the other half of the door so we could get in.
