Kettles Back Home Cookin'

I was a little disappointed in my experience here. We chose this restaurant because the reviews look pretty good and they have a gluten friendly menu online. When we showed up, we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table and service was relatively quick. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich off the gluten friendly menu, and when our food came out I noticed the chicken burger was just one of those frozen store bought burgers you put in the oven to cook. After I had a few bites, I double checked with one of the servers that I was in fact given a gluten free meal because the bun seemed too good to be gluten free (but it's not impossible because I have had really good buns in other restaurants). Turns out they forgot to tell the kitchen staff that I needed a gluten free meal. They were quick to correct the issue, but now because of that mistake I will be suffering from some unpleasant symptoms. Upon paying the bill, I was surprised that they did not compensate me in any way for the mistake. Now because of that mistake, I get to be sick all night and I had to pay the full price for it. The gluten free brownie was super rich and had so much icing piled on it that I could only eat a few small bites of it. My fiance enjoyed his meal of fish and chips and chocolate cream pie, but he does not have any dietary restrictions to worry about. Overall, the food wasn't very impressive and I don't think I have a desire to go back. If you have a gluten intolerance or are celiac, avoid this place.

Kettles Back Home Cookin’ in Owen Sound is a breakfast lover’s dream! This cozy, family-run spot on Hwy 6 & 10 feels like stepping into grandma’s kitchen. I had the classic two-egg breakfast with, toast—generous portions, perfectly cooked eggs, and crispy, non-greasy that hit all the right spots. The coffee came with free refills, a nice touch. The gluten-free menu was a pleasant surprise for my friend, offering plenty of tasty options. The staff were super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The rustic, western-style vibe adds to the charm, and the prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity. Highly recommend stopping by for a hearty, delicious breakfast
